Are you looking for a sandblasting company for a project in Tacoma? Look no further than Horton Industrial. We provide start to finish marine coating services to the Tacoma area, and we hope to work with you!
Media blasting is the first step to providing quality coating work. Horton Industrial provides all of the necessary equipment to media blast even the largest projects. As you can see from our pictures, we are experienced in working shipyards, including at dry dock. We have all materials delivered to the dock, and after we finish masking, we will begin to blast. Usually, these marine environments require a near-white finish (SSPC-SP10), especially surfaces that will be used for immersion service.
After we finish blasting, we use our industrial vacuuming equipment to suck up any media in areas where we will apply the coating. Our Vecloader 616 can clean six to eight tons of blast media per hour, and this can be from up to six hundred feet away. This is an incredible machine!
We finish cleanup, usually within one day, and then we begin coating immediately to provide the best protection for your project.
When it comes time to apply paint on your project, Horton Industrial does a thorough job. We apply our paint by manufacturer specifications, taking wet mill thickness readings, humidity readings, temperature readings of the air and the substrate, and constantly monitoring the pot life of our epoxy. It is important to take these variables into consideration, as they affect the overall performance of the product. While many other companies neglect these considerations, leading to a poor-quality paint job, Horton Industrial never skips a step.
As for our preferred paint manufacturers, we often use Jotun, International Marine Coatings, and Devoe. These companies provide quality product, and they always provide great service.
When it comes time to pick the best product system for your project, Horton Industrial will work with our network of paint reps to help choose the right material for your project.
